Creating Coupon Codes In Magento Community

A coupon code can be associated with a shopping cart price rule to apply a discount when a set of conditions is met. Customers can enter the coupon code from the shopping cart page to receive the discount. Coupons codes can be created for specific customer groups, or for anyone who make a purchase over a certain amount. Coupon codes can be sent by email, included in a newsletter, catalog, or coupon design, or incorporated into a QR code that can be scanned with a smart phone. Here are a few ways you can use coupons in your store:

• Email coupons to customers
• Produce printed coupons
• Create instore coupons for mobile user

To Set Up a Coupon Code:

1. Login to your Admin Section.

2.After that, go to Promotions->Shopping Cart Price Rules

3.In Shopping Cart Price Rules Click on "Add New Rule"

4.After that,Put The Required Information for Creating Shopping cart Coupon Codes.

• Enter Rule Name for example. Festival Offer,or Monsoon Offer etc
•  Put Description For Rule Name.
• status->active
• In next Option,i.e Customer Groups, You can Select Customer Groups to whom you want to Provide Coupons.You can Select Multiple Option From the Menu.
• Select Coupon Will give you an option to generate or Create Coupons.
• In Coupon Code Option, You Can Put your Custom Coupon Code or You can Use Auto-generation Code Option to Automatically generate coupon code for Customers.
• You can also put Use for particular Coupon means For example Coupon can be used one time purpose or You can use it multiple times.
• similarly,You can mention in the option "Uses Per Customer" .this describes how many times customer can use that specific coupon.
• This Is the screenshot For Creating Rule Information.
• Navigate to Actions tab.
• There is a Section called "Updates Price Using Following Instructions".
• In that, Choose the Apply Option From Drop-down Menu which better Suits your Shopping cart.
• By Default ,It is percent of Product Price Discount. how many % of Discount you want to give to your customers.
• then,Discount Percentage like 10%,20%,60%.
• You can Put discount for 1 Product Quantity or 3 product Quantity by selecting the Option called "maximum Quantity Discount is Applied to".
• Apply to shopping amount->Yes/No

• Save The Shopping Cart rule.
• after That Check by adding product to shopping cart and put discount code which you have generated before.
